Hello HP/Compaq Goldfish-GL8E,the hard drive died.So I got one and did a full/raw format, partitioned and installed XP Pro,it ran fine but I had lost the HPsystem setup disc.pulled off the HP/Compaq web site/support downloaded and installed the correct device drivers for the systems motherboard ASUS PTGD1-LA. Starting from the top of the list, all went well until it came to installing the original BIOS. Clicked 'Restart PC now' to complete the install,on first post screen was a message saying ' unsupported processor detected.your computer will now shut down' and it did. I have tried everthing imaginable, from simply clearing CMOS with the jumpers to trying a different HD also tried booting to my XPsetup disc,it stops before that and shuts down.

Does anyone have any ideas about this??? Iv`e been building and fixing computers for about 9 years now and never have I not been able to find and fix any all the problems PC`s get or have yet. > KEEP SMILING.
